Lego Pieces missing out of brand new set?

My brother got given the ATTE walker set for christmas and while building it he has noticed that a lot of the pieces are missing, is this common place?

It’s a very uncommon problem with Lego’s, their quality control is great. I have yet to get a set that had a missing piece ( & I have set that contain 1000+ pieces)

But, you can contact Lego with the item # of the missing pieces (a parts list is shown in the instruction manual) & they’ll send you out replacements.
