What is NASCAR? It is synonymous with the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing. This is a sanctioning body, that evaluates the various stock car racing in the U.S.. NASCAR is one of the most popular sports today in the U.S.. One of the reasons why their popularity is to a surge in media exposure. The top three racing series the association sanctions are the Craftsman Truck Series, Nationwide Series and Cup Sprint.
The sport has also become famous outside of their drivers. Among the most famous NASCAR drivers have is Dale Earnhardt Jr., who began his career race cars at the tender age of 17. Now racing in the Sprint Cup series. His father won this series in their later years. For five consecutive years, received the prize most popular NASCAR driver from 2003 to 2007. The fans are responsible for choosing the recipient of this award.
You could say that racing in the blood of Earnhardt Jr., who have close relatives who are also driving other racing series. Others have business related to NASCAR. One of the most Featured is Ralph Earnhardt, his grandfather. He began a long line of runners in the family car.
Ralph Earnhardt is a legend in the sport. He won his lone Sports NASCAR in 1956. However, various industry groups have recognized their contributions. Press Association National Motorsports Hall led him of Fame in 1989. In 1997, the Hall of Fame International Motorsports did the same. The Rotary Club of Oceanside Daytona Beach Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame in 2004. By Finally, in 2007, National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame for him.
Dale's father, Ralph's son also became a Race Car driver. Ralph wanted his son to take a different path. However, Dale Sr. was determined to follow in the footsteps of his father. He dropped out of school and followed his dream.
He became successful in Winston Cup, now known as Sprint Cup. In 1979, he became the Rookie of the Year NASCAR Sprint Cup. He became a champion in the series for seven years. The Hall of Fame Motorsports in 2002. In addition, the Hall of Fame Motorsports him in 2006.
It was evident that someone of their children could play their role. As it turned out that he did not only influence Dale Earnhardt Jr., but his other oldest son Kerry Dale as well. Although Kerry did not spend much time with his father while he was growing up, ended up doing the sport his father loved. Racing is probably strong in Earnhardt's blood, because his son, Jeffrey, also began competing in 2007.
Jeffrey Earnhardt was impressive at Wythe Raceway, Hornet Division. Here, won the Rookie of the Year. Also General Motors reached in the search field racing next best thing in the car. In 2007, competed in the Busch East Series where he finished fifth. For the end of the season, won the most popular driver.
