What do I need to open an Atlas N Scale Train set?

I really want to start a collection station. I decided to go with the Scale Model N Atlas. Do I have to put cork under the track? Is there anything else important I should know? Thank you!

Visit your local hobby shop. There is a wide selection of books on planning your rail to meet their wishes and interests. What is the space you have available? Determine how design can be large. What you want to represent in their design. – The long distance trains – short-haul trains – the names of major railway (Conrail, Santa Fe, CPR, CNR?) – Period of time? Steam? Until 1960) Diesel? (After 1940) both? (1940 – 1960) – What is its significance? operating to a schedule? The more you can answer, unless you buy you will have to replace after taking these decisions. Did you go to buy things made or to be constructed equipment, or scratch build your team, structure and landscape. Visiting a Model Railway club if you have the opportunity, or let the local hobby shop that you are interested in discussing your plans with someone knowledgeable about the hobby. attend a show or two, as have the opportunity to get ideas. Often, clubs attend these programs and to design demonstration. Almost everyone I've met in 20 years in the hobby is more than willing to share ideas and knowledge with the newcomers. A few books were worth the expense. I hope you start enjoying the results of their work and effort. It's fun for me!
