Medical personnel helping at accident?
My friend is a highway patrol officer and was at the scene of a very bad roll over accident and a motorist stopped to offer help stating he is a nurse. Once the motorist approached the scene of the accident and saw that one of the girls needing medical attention was 15 years old, the alleged nurse said the girl was too young and didn’t want to get his license revoked.
Isn’t there something called an anti dumping law for patient care?
Assisting at an accident comes under the Good Samaritan Law which means that if you DO NOT expect ANY PAYMENT than not only can you not be sued for any injury that may occur but that you can withdrawal your help at any time.
It used to be that if we said we were a Nurse then they could sue in some sort of way which is why we don’t tell were Nurse’s when attending an accident.
What the male Nurse did was perfectly legal BUT was not morally or ethically correct.
Although I am not sure why he suddenly worried about his license.
