I'm debating between the Rebel XTi and Sony A300. It is the noise at high ISO in the Sony really bad? is
be a reason not to get it? Do you have a of these cameras? What do you prefer – based on the quality and ease of use, not just in name?
Definitely the Canon. Sony is very new to the DSLR digital (and the camera in general) world, which means you're not as experienced with manufacturing cameras like Canon or Nikon. Canon and Nikon cameras have a wide variety of lenses made of glass good for you to choose. Both have been in the SLR market for quite some time, and both have been doing for decades SLR. As to ISO? I have an XT, and I'm very happy with the noise levels at high ISO. Remarkably, yes, but not painful. (If you want examples, drop me a note and link you some taken at high ISO.)
