Yes, I did – and OF INF. One can only speculate that the gloves stayed on the field because they were: 1. It is not as specialized as today's value or 2. How out of place in canoes 3. Shared with Opposing players – questionable reference found in S / A of about 3 years ago that Jimmy Piersall sprained his ankle in step 54, a glove and practice ended shortly thereafter. Maybe after the Second World War, there was a shortage of materials was expensive gloves. This, combined with much lower salaries, could be possible that some MLB players could not afford their own gloves. The team may have supplied uniforms and caps, and only the players buy their own shoes and gloves. Hard to believe, because there are "stories" that some players slept with their old gloves (and bats).
