Can you survive a French bulldog in a hot country?
I currently reside in England and am looking to get a French bulldog puppy in the summer. However, in the coming years, once I finish my studies I can move to India (or other hot country) and of course have to take my dog everywhere I go. I read somewhere that short-nosed dogs can not survive in hot countries. Is this true? I love the French Bulldog, but do not want to go to hell in a hot country, where you can not breathe! How Much heat bad for the Bulldogs?
Most dogs in England have trouble coping with the heat in India, but I do think a French bulldog would not be able to cope as well as some others. I have a friend in the U.S. that has them (and the dogs are beautiful too) – live in a humid hot parts of the country and refuses to leave them out of the house with air conditioning, to commissioning sun's heat … they have a litter tray! I would question your desire to have a dog traveling with you abroad. In India dogs are often treated with great suspicion and might find that their journey is impeded by you have one, apart from all things that are not able to visit, etc because you can not leave the dog, and much less all the fuss over border controls, etc.
