Lego Star Wars Review-September 8039 Venator Class Republic Attack Cruiser
The Lego Star Wars Set 8039, Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser is a model of the precursor to the imposition of Imperial Star Destroyer prominently in the opening moments of Star Wars A New Hope. This boat was designed as the flagship of staff Chancellor Palpatine during the Clone Wars and stressed in the opening salvo of Episode Three Revenge of the Sith, when Anakin and Obi-Wan crash land part of a Venator on Coruscant.
The Venator Lego Minifigure not to scale but not a great job of reproducing the design of the spacecraft. It is about 20 inches (50.8cm) long, 12 inches (30.5 cm) wide and 7 inches (17.8 cm) high, so it is a pretty impressive model. For all extra gameplay has built a handle on top that can be used to lift the vehicle safely without fear of breaking dishes. It is very effective and also the fans, while no doubt complain that it reduces the set of toy a "boy" the handle is pulled pretty well and does little to undermine the general feel of the series.
The Venator is a clone a Clone Pilot and gunner of the which have appeared in previous series. The new figures for this set includes two commands Senate. The bodies of these figures have the same body as a regular clone, only painted blue and white instead of a new helmet design to reflect the different aspect of the elite guard of the Galactic Senate. The final figure is the exclusive Minifig Chancellor Palpatine, and this figure is before Palpatine reveals himself as the Sith Lord.
There are a number of features to play on the boat which includes an opening in the front, Palpatine's office where you are. Inside is a simple chair and table set up with some brown Palpatine branded color flags and carpets. It seems small, but Lego obviously been done to reduce overall package size without losing the elegant shape of the ship. In the back is a removable control module and open areas gunner on the side. Firearms film include several missiles and shelling mechanism at the bottom that can be removed and then refilled.
In general, the ship is beautiful representation of the original, instantly recognizable and very playable. Unlike previous models of this size, as the model of Star Destroyer 6211, children Venator Can Play with using the retractable handle and have no interest in breaking apart. The exclusive Minifigures added that this should provide a purchase before is exhausted and requires high prices in the secondary market.
