What is the “plug” in the driver’s side window of a funny car dragster?
I don’t usually watch sports on TV, but today I saw a show on funny car drag races. Each car had a hole in the driver’s side window, near the top front of the window. The hole had a tight fitting plug that could be inserted and removed by the driver. Before the start of the race, the driver put the plug in. What the heck is this for?
They have round holes in each side window to allow the saftey crew to insert fire extinguisher nozzles without lifting the body. Maybe thats what you saw.
