How to play "game software Britannica alphabet soup" is not working for me.?

I sent a copy to my daughter before attempting actually performed. When I tried I could not make it work. I could not find a help file anywhere. Does anyone know how to get this game software for work? This is a crossword game. When I start clicking the right words to keep saying "wrong answer". I tried different ways, but without success. Please help if you can! Thanks! I looked and saw nothing of what he is talking. I'm still not know what to do.
