Castle Minifigs
LEGO: has anybody been a little disapointed with the lack of awesome Lego Sets these past few years?

Star Wars lego is pretty good tho.

But look at the Castle Lego from the late ninties (and before)! that stuff was awesome! The stuff they make now is boring. hardly any minifigs, boring castles, boring sets, etc.
Its like theyre all designed for 5 year olds,with no appeal to the older people: with their credit cards, impulse buying, and disposable income.

Know what im saying?

When I was younger, LEGO was all I wanted to play with.

My grandmother had one of those enormous Rubbermaid containers, probably about two feet high, and three feet long completely crammed full of Lego Bricks.

That was when LEGO was still awesome; where bricks consisted of the vast majority of the playsets, and the only extras were the little LEGO people, trees, flowers, and a few windows and doors. Those were the glory days. Preassembled toys were for children who lacked superior mental development.

But, ironically, I just looked at LEGO sets the other day, and came across more or less the same thing you did. It was all robots and spaceships, with maybe THREE bricks per playset. It doesn’t even LOOK like LEGO anymore.

I could only find one “basic” set that included all of the colorful bricks of yesteryears, but, interestingly enough, it seemed to be aimed at the younger crowd. And, in this playset, there weren’t even any people or trees. Just bricks.

I want the best of both worlds. Oh well, time to get on eBay.
